I am looking to find a possible value of a Heinrich Frank knife I own. This particular knife was built in January of 1971 by Mr. Frank in the small town of Amherst Oh. It is a folder with ivory handles. On one side of the blade an elk is engraved and on the other side a labrador is engraved. The knife has rarely been handled and is in absolute mint condition. I have yet to see anywhere on the net any other knife made in Amherst. Any possible info on this would be very welcome. Thank you

Welcome to Blade Forums. You might want to check out the rules of the forum again. About the only thing we can't discuss with you at your membership level is a valuation of your knife. You have to be at least a Gold level (paid membership) to discuss $ values and that is best done through the Private Message system which is also available to you with the paid membership. Unfortunately I don't know diddly about your particular knife, but someone will be along who might know everything about it.

Again welcome!

Paul

At the Gold level you can ask and be told the value of knives. If you want a formal appraisal, Bernard Levine offers appraisal services, he has a subforum here. IIRC he will appraise a knife from pictures you e-mail to him or you can send your knife to him.

I believe that Henry Frank is still alive and making knives at the age of 85. Last I knew he was living in Dallas, Oregon. You could just get in touch with him.
