HH & FSH what is the difference??

Hey guys.....i have not being trying hard to be a hog......

some names are so confusing....need your expert knowledge.

There is Heavy Heart, there is a Steel Heart.....and there is FSH.....

What is the difference?? Looks the same to me.
 
You guys feel free to jump in and let me know if I am screwing this up.

The current Steel Heart family has several variations based on the same overall profile, the Fusion Steel Heart. Each variation is made from a different finished base width blade blank.

FSH - Fusion Steel Heart - .250 inch
HH FHS - Heavy Heart Fusion Steel Heart - .270 inch
HOGFSH - Heavy Ordinace grade Fusion Steel Heart - .312 inch

There was a thinner 3/16 model available also but the name escapes me at the monent.

Each of the above came or comes with standard or magnum width handles of different types of micarta (paper, canvas, linen, etc.) The difference in weight of the standard and magnum handles is about 1 oz. for canvas micarta. The difference in oveall width of the scales is about 1/4 inch. Many blade coatings also available.

Older Steel Hearts were made in several different profiles, but those are better described by looking at archival pictures on one of the other Busse dedicated archival websites like http://zknives.com/knives/fixed/busse/index.shtml or

looks like there is not too much diffrence in thickness between that Standard FSH and that Heavy Heart :cool:
 
Nope! .250 vs .270 - .020. Hardly notable but enough to get us all interested in getting one!
 
For Busse....Black Micarta is most common. That's say......What if I got one with BK BK. Am I able to ask them to change the handle like snakeskin, Green linen Micarta.....stuff like that??

Or pretty much what it is, its a done deal. Not possible to change after.
 
Oh yeah.....by the way, i just added HH FSH into my pocket. It is my second Busse after AK. I saw it on the store.....i thought i was crazy....then.....i am crazy enough, did the purchase. A commen BK BK HH FSH.

I just hope BM won't coming soon~

p.s. I finally understand why people use the word "HOG" so much in the thread.......haha, you guys are so funny.

you can send that blade back to the Busse shop and have the handles (scales) changed,

best to call the shop and speak with Jerry or Garth to find out what the back log will be as well as the price.

What!!! REALLY, i can do that!!! Wow, that is awsome. I will call them tomorrow. I wanna change it simply my AK is BK BK. Wanna see different handle looks like.

BK blade looks better on what handle? What you guys think? Sneak Skin? Green linen Micarta?? A commen Tan?

I never see other handle in live...don't know what looks the best, you guys might have better idea.

the Snake skin scales werent avalible for the AK'S,

you can check out the Busse company store and look at the pics that Skunk made of some of the various blade/handle combo's,, that might be some help to ye.:cool:

I have a Urban gray with Black scales ,, I really like that combo,, but I have seen many more HOGS post their diffrent AK combos and I have yet to see a combo that I didnt like:thumbup:

IIRC, someone else on here did that awhile back. I think the price was something like $75 (or it could have been 75 bottles of beer), I forget.. :D
 
75 bottle of beer doesn't sound like a problem. 75 whisky then.....i will be like a sleeping beauty, with HH new handle.
