The mag handles give the knife a very different feel than one equipped with the standard scales.

The mag handle version feels more like a Heavy Ordinance to me.

The standard handle HH has nearly the same balance and feel as my favorite FSH.

Well i can't decide which one i like more, the mag or the standard....standard or the mag....
The only thing i can come up with are those tube fasteners on the HH standard, they look just a tad better then the ones used on the mag!

i had a hard time choosing between the two having not used the mag handled fusion handles before...

the only thing i have to go by are the handles on the ak47, wich while very thick and awesome, im not sure if they would transfer well to the heavy choppers, since the contours would change the overall effect of the thickness.....

probably should have gone with the mag....

lol. dang. i was going to just go buy another one with mags from the company store, but they's all gone :(

chances are its just the weight from the mag handles adding to the overal weight of the knife, giving it a heavier feel then the regular handled version. having never handled one, i always kind of expected that it would bring the overal thing to a more handle heavy balance, wich would make it less of a chopper, but i could be completely wrong. wich is one of the reasons i always liked the basic 9 over the ergo battle mistress. even though the bme is technically heavier, the handle on the b9 is so light that i find its a better chopper.

With the caveat that I don't own a Heavy Heart, but do have two HOFSH models with normal and magnum slabs, I beg to differ with this hypothesis.

The balance points (just at the forward edge of the slabs) of the regular black paper and the magnum tigerstripe are close enough to each other that they may as well be the same. The real difference is in the degree of hand-filling that takes place. The magnums obviously have the edge in this regard and it makes the knife feel very secure in your hand and "choppier". The regular slabs let you shift your grip around without much interference. It could almost be described as "livelier" if that weren't such an oxymoron applied to this type of blade.

I got the regular Heavy Heart, the handle is very slightly thicker than regular FSH but not as thick as the HOFSH with regular scales so I think it really depends what you're going to do with the knife. If chopping was the only thing then I'd like to have the mag handles on it but I usually wear gloves when I do that anyway so it doesn't really matter that much.

The EU17-style handles are what fit my hand the best. Thinking the regular HH handle would most closely resemble that config., I went with the regular. Now if it comes to me NASA'ed also, I'd be one happy Hog.

My regular handled HH is the "NASA" version.

Actually, the NASA version was probably created when the guys in the shop went on a beer run and let the logo machine run out of paint. :D

I can hardly wait to see the "Rare NASA version" ads on eBay. This rumor has better legs than Elle McPherson.

(Thanks for the warning skunk. I need to keep the INFI flowing.)

Err..What I meant to say was that the lack of logo is likely a high-tech experiment to adapt Busse knives to the weightlessness encountered in space.

Yeah...that's the ticket.

I think they're going send them up in the space shuttle and fire them at giant incoming meteors to break them up before they can crash into terra firma.
