Hi All,
I was gonna keep this one, but the heating oil bill just came. YIKES!
I bought this Himalayan Imports 12" AK Khuk a while back, and modified it more to my liking. It didn't seem to chop real well at first-too thick at the edge. I added a full flat grind (now watch the chips fly!), thinned the edges and added double sided serrations, thumb notches and a penetrator tip/swedge. In respect to the original maker, I left his personal marks in tact. Evidence of the forged-in fuller in the blade remain. The original small knife and sharpener included with the khuk just didn't cut it, so I added these. They fit great in the khuk's sheath. Please see first pic.
The sharpener is a cut-down diamond sharpener. It has been used, but has alot of life left in it. Its designed to sharpen both plain and serrated edges. I had to cut the alum. body down to fit the khuk's sheath. Works great! I modded up an Old Hickory knife (1095 high carbon steel) to go with it (SOLD). I added two spots of thumb/fore finger notches on the spine of the blade, a finger choil, and cut down, shaped, sanded, and oiled the grip. She's a real slicer! I'm throwing in a chocolate brown kydex neck sheath with breakaway 550 cord necklace for the small knife as well.
