Hello, my name is Eric. SkagSig40 invited me to join you guys here in HI forums despite the fact that i own a GH Khukuris....very nice of you Chris, thanks! ;)

I own a Model 1 military issue Khukuri brought back by a friend from his tour in Nepal, i must say...i'm impressed. I've been a knife collector for about 4 years now and have the opportunity to own many production and custom pieces since then but never own a Khukuri due to the fact that there's many fake ones circulating in this region. The quality is poor and to the extent; toy like!....hence i have bad impression of them and never thought of owning one.(well, i have one made locally but that is another story...) Recently, a countryman(also a forumite, better known as Redvenom) showed me two of his Khukuris...can't remember where it's from...either GH or HI...can't remember. Anyways, after seeing them...my perception changed. I wanted to purchace some but seeing what Redvenom had to go through to obtain them left a bitter taste to it all. Recently, i was lucky enough to have one given to me as a gift...GOOD STUFF i must say! The model 1 is not in presentation finish(high polished blade) but it was good enough for me as a working piece. The spine is SO thick it'll peel car doors off like paper...hehehe, sorry folks...i've never encounter anything this thick...not even a Strider! :p

Well...I hope to learn more from you guys! ;)

Eric Wong.

Welcome to the Cantina Eric:)

You picked a good time to start hanging around here if you want to get some great khukuris(best in the world as a matter of fact)for low prices. The HI factory has to move to a safer locale due to Maoist violence/threat in Nepal, so HI is selling knives for really low prices.

There'll be others by to welcome you soon, but Sunday night at this time is bound to be a little slow:)

Welcome Eric, I haven't been around the forum too long either but I sure am glad that I found it.
You are right about learning on this forum. Stick around for a while and I think you will really like it.

Hi Eric,

Haven't been here long myself, but I think you'll like it here. Read Howard's amazingly comprehensive FAQ, and search this forum and archives for more info and I think you'll agree that these constitute an astonishing repository of khuk information. Good stuff on lots of other stuff too. And Uncle Bill is tops, the way he keeps this asylum running is a wonder to behold. And if anyone can find a way to get more real khuks to you, it's Uncle Bill.

Welcome to the best source of info and wisecracks on khukuris
on the web - or anywhere else.

Welcome to the Cantina Eric!!!!:D
I've seen you around on a couple of other forums and it's good to have you here!!!!

Welcome aboard Eric,

I have found that this forum above all others to be as friendly and wacko as anyone like myself could ask for. Everyone here has fun and does not take themselves so seriosly that they can't be the brunt of joking. There is more knowledge here collectively about Khukuris than perhaps anywhere in the world,. At least it seems that way to me at times. You will have fun, become infected with HIKV and learn lots. ENJOY THE RIDE!!!

Welcome to this great site. It sounds that you have much to contribute to this forum as well. I will tell you I recieved my first HI khukri this past weekend , and my wife has been happy to see all the bushes being trimmed.;)

The Hi khukri's are fun to use and warming to the heart just to look at hanging on the wall.

Sam

Yeah, but I recognize Keninshiro from other forums. Welcome aboard.

Hi Eric! Glad you decided to stop by! This is the best place to learn about khukuris on the net. They also make the best khukuris in the world. If one ever fails Uncle Bill will make it right no matter what...the best warranty in the knife industry! Just read up on the HI website and you will learn a bunch!:) Have fun!

I'm overwhelm with the responses you guys gave! :D This must be the most replies i ever got from a "newbie" thread....Thanks! Yall' know how to make a person feel at home. Please drop by "Asian/Aussie forums" under the Community section so that we can return the good hospitality. ;)
