Hi All,

Was trolling for a while on here while looking for mod suggestions for my Beckers, Finally decided to join.

So far Ive seen a lot of great info.

It might be a problem because it will probably cause more spontaneous purchases.
 
Well Dave, that's just how it works man. You come in here a normal, sane guy looking for some info and it slowly starts down hill for you. Hang around and enjoy the ride though, it can be fun. :thumbup:
 
get a 4, 5 and 15 asap while they can still be had reasonably.....after that start the search for the mythical 1,6 and 20 and if it strikes your fancy, the serrated 2........ but definitely start with 4, 5, and 15 asap....

I mulled over the BK1 Brute years ago and never pulled the trigger on it.... big mistake....
 
I finally gave up looking for one, and the 6, they'll come eventually if its ment to be..... till then I console myself with my TM Hunt M18, BK20, BK21, and a couple of other nice chopper type blades that get me by..... MMMmmm Rat Bastard...... I get laughed at when I mention it, but I love the thing!
 
Welcome aboard Dave, glad to have you here. I love my Brute. No, not the best chopper, but, mine's been re-profiled, and it doesn't do too bad:

I have the same affliction so I totally get that.
Many of its shortcomings come from the blade having not been designed by Ethan. This combined with the cost and a bunch of opinionated reasoning have kept this one off my radar.

Now the 15 on the other hand...
It's getting more elusive and expensive almost daily.
Grab a reasonably priced one as soon as you can before this affliction lightens the wallet even more. The 4 and 5 are going away as well but are super cheap for now and well worth snagging even a backup or 2. Same for the 24 but I think it's availability has yet to become scarce.

The BK1 does look awesome but functionally, not so much.

Get yourself a 5 and 15 before you really start kicking yourself.
 
Welcome to the fun house!! Not a single one of is has any bit of sense left. Hahaha. After hanging out around here for this long I've learned that it's not hard to pull the trigger on knives. Haha haha haha (sad, shameful laugh...) but hey that's half the fun right!?

The 1's and 6's are hard to come by but they do make appearances every once and a while. I'm still waiting for an 8 to pop up somewhere...

Anyway; pull up a log and sit around with us.

I was actually looking at those two.... Im not really crazy those just because I dont think I have a use for those.... ( I know dont bash me too much) I carry a Buck woodsman cocobola in a Redhill sheath when hunting.... but at the price of the BK5 being so affordable it might be work picking up. I really like the BK16.... might pull the trigger on that one right away. My GF saw me looking at the BK39 so I have a feeling she will be ordering that one for the Christmas present.....

Decisions decisions......

Do yourself a favour and just order them all now. Save yourself the stress and anxiety of making a decision. Just go to one of our forum dealers, load the cart with every Becker model and hit buy now. Credit cards tend to work great ;)

But in all seriousness get one of each size to start. :thumbup: Grab that 5 & 16, then get an 11 or 14 and you got all your bases covered! Never tell the G/F and end up with that 39, or kinda lean her towards a 20 or 21!
