Hello fellows.. I have been a member for quite a while, haven't been posting much, but when i saw the good guys here at knifemakers forum i just knew i had to :) I am 15 years old. I am into knifemaking ofcourse ;) boxing, weightlifting, nutritititition i hate that word, and art.. lots of things really. But of all the stuffs in into knifemaking is on the top. Let me show you you a little piece i just made;

1075 steel, scottish beech burl, alu. pins.

I have recently bought a new grinder from sweden(i am from Norway) with 2 meter belts(about 78") which is standard size here. I have also ordered a heat treating oven which im getting in 2-3 months. That will be great ! Other tools I have is a 4" * 36" wood grinder, a small bandsaw which I never use, a cool coal forge and other basic stuffs.
Here is my pride and joy:

Hope that you guys will accept me here on the forums.

Thanks,

Johan

PS. Let me know if you got any questions. :D

No, we don't accept foreigners here.....go away!

Hey Johan, just joking. I am a South African living in Canada and they have not thrown me out yet even though I give them enough reason to.
Great bunch of guys here on the Forum and VERY knowledgable. You will learn much.

Very nice knife and good looking grinder.
Welcome.:D

Mike

Hey mike... LOL, looks like great bunch of guys here. Actually I have ordered my HT oven all the way from south africa! What a coincidence...Thanks for welcoming me :D

HT oven from S.A. hey?
Hope you do not have to make a fire in it!
Make sure there is an electric cord attached to it. Ho ho.

Just joking with you. A lot of people think there are only mud huts and wild animals in Africa. Enjoy the oven and the forum.

Mike:D

Johan, There is some great talent, comes from your region of the globe.
It is nice to see someone so young take his craft seriously, as It appears you do. Thanks for sharing, via your photos and your post. Keep us posted on what new knife projects you are working on. Some of the photos you will see posted here are those of knifemakers who are active on this forum. The scary "portrait shots" posted by, such as, Indian George, are not representative of a majority of the makers who post here. We don't want to scare you off. Nice to meet you. Fred < Bethel Ridge Forge >

Johan, sounds like you are just like I was at 15! :D Hell, sounds like you are just like me now ;) (27)

Great looking work! It looks like there is some Jens Anso influence (a really good influence :) )

Please stick around and post more often!

Thanks all for your great replies. Mike, I like that joke hehehe. Fred, you guys aint gonna scare a viking off, no way :D Actually i think its rather funny with the crazy guys :) Nick, thanks, its so great to look at other knifemakers like yours work. Johan

If I remember correctly, Johan was posting on the forums of British Blades when he was only thirteen! He has shown pics of some of his creations and he is to be commended for a maturity beyond his years. As you can see, his mastery of the English language is quite evident! ---Sandy---

Thank you very much Sandy, it makes me feel very good :) I love your leatherwork too.

Johan
