Hi all, new here. I'm in the market for a new folding knife, as I lost my last one. I'm using the knife daily so I need something that wont quit. So far its these that are interesting me, so perhaps some of you could share some valuable insight.

Thanks in advance!

Boker HK. available for $50us

Benchmade 14300 (I think this is made 'overseas' though. I'd prefer one made in their US factory for obvious reasons)

Spyderco Endura in green (US made I think, cheaper then the rest, but should still be nice. not as 'bling' though)

Then there is this. I dont know much about it but it 'looks' nice. info anyone?

Spyderco is generally regarded as one of the "best bang for your buck" kind of companies. I own the Civilian and Raven models, and they both are well made knives. I know the last one is a Boker - a good brand as well. I personally like to lean towards CRKT as a company for their matte black titanium carbide coatings that look "bling" as well as the widely available tanto style point, and many of their models are flat ground, which I also like for durability.

Both Spyderco and Benchmade produce a nice knife. Both make knives both in the US and overseas. Aside from Spyderco's Byrd line, which is made in China, some Spydercos are made in Japan. Nice stuff, but you said you wanted American made. Go to each company's web site for info on where each model is made.

depending on how much you want to spend, i would recommend the spyderco endura wave at the low end (price, not quality)

virtually any benchmade (med price range)

emerson cqc line (med-high)

chris reeve sebenza (high end)

Thanks for the info guys. The last one (boker, name unknown)is on a rediculosly good sale (about 80% off) but due to the lack of a serrated section its use as a EDC is limited, at least for me anyways.Just the price (39 us) has made me consider it as a backup or something to collect.

The BM HK shown (model 14300) is made 'overseas', and I dont know where overseas is (china = crap. Taiwan = good bang for the buck. At least thats how it relates with most things I purchase). I've bought the spyderco off ebay for about $57 all included, so its a bit of a deal as well but I'd REALY like an HK knife sometime, and was wondering if anyone has first hand experience with the ones listed, or could provide insight into alternatives. Also, how is the locking mechs on these (back lock on the spyderco has me worried a little, and is the liner lock on the boker thin?)

Thanks!
