Yangdu wanted me to post a thread warning all of you of new knives to come.

There is a new shop manager, Raj, pronounced like Roger without the er. He has many ideas.

There is a Sarge blade number 2 arriving, but the Shop in all it's wisdom sent the prototypes back and now wants further data on the specs. These are the little things that had Bill groanig.

There is a special little knife designed by several forumites that will arrive soon.

There is a 'Jungle Killer", popular in a region of Asia to hack down growth and trees. I'll be doing a report on that soon. A rusty version is arriving for me to clean and then test.

I dunno, lots of new stuff. Every shipment a few new items appear. Yangdu is very excited. She works extremely long hours and when a shipment arrives with new blade ideas she gets a kick out of it. She never thought she'd feel this way- I mean, come on, she's a hill girl from Nepal with other interests in life, but the knives in Bill's absence have actually grown on her. And why not? She's making HI better every day and should be proud and interested to see her Dharma work continue.

All the news that's fit to print.

Sarge blade No. 2 ? that I do not yet own a No. 1 ? And more new models ??

Bless Yangdu and the kamis and the whole workshop ! :)

Thanks Munk! The small knives sound great, but this Jungle blade really has me intrigued. I am anxious to see how you think it compares to the "regular" HI models I would think of for that role, like the Kobra for sure and perhaps the Sirupati. A "Rusty" version? Rusty would get a kick out of that one.

I need another Sarge knife like I need another hole in my head...say are these Sarge v2.0's good for applying said hole to one's cranium?

Well that sounds great!

I don't know if it is because of him, or what, but I have noticed that the last 2 khukuris I got from HI have some of the best tempering of any I have ever purchased.

I would LOVE to see a 15 or 16" PLAIN YCS of about 25 oz's.

The Jungle Killer looks like a Cherokee Rose on steroids. Like the difference between a big block Hemi and six cylinder fuel injected motor. As a straight blade, I don't think it's in the cards that it will out chop a khuk- but you know what? I'm no engineer and who knows? All of its good, right?

Just another Honkin Killer blade to add to my collection. HI is becoming the home of Banjo picken, cotton mouthed, drunk water from a Holler log Killer Blades. And then all the smaller specialty items. Most times when a proven product is veered from, it spells trouble for the company. Does anyone remember the Mountain Bikes offered by Smith and Wesson when the Brits owned the company? No? Well, case in point. But when HI makes a new entry, it just seems to work out. Karma- good Karma.

Awesome info.

Any news on my idea yet? Last I heard she had forwarded the info onto the Kami's. Pic below.

Innovation is Great!

I look forward to the new knives. I was kinda hoping that since I was home sick today that they're be a special that was, err special.

Munk,

Being that "Rag" is a new shop manager, who did he replace (if anyone)?
I thought that "Bura" had the top shop manager position?

Jimmy;

First, I spelled his name wrong- it is Raj- cause that's what Yangdu wrote. I assume I misheard it when she told me earlier.
Second, the 'shop manager' position is different from the top Kami. A shop manager does that- manage the shop. The old shop manager is still there working hard, but they felt a manager who could read and write would make communication between Yangdu et al much easier.

Leftandblack- I haven't heard anything specifically on your knife. It will probably be coming. Everything else is.

Thanks, Munk :)

By the way, is this new fella also a kami, or is his position "strictly" that of being a manager and coming up with new ideas and such?

Thanks again:)
