Initial impressions.

Mine arrived Friday. It's been close to me since.

To start out with, it's really a dui chirra, rather than an Ang Khola type blade. Both fullers the upper you would expect, and the central (which reminds me of the YCS though not quite as definite, say a 36C rather than a 38D cup ) work together with the spine and edge line to produce a combination of curves that demand to be fondled, er, ah... appreciated hands on! That's it, you have to appreciate and experience the Bird and Trout hands on.

Jim Bowies blade may have been his Iron Mistress, but mine reminds me of the girl from Darjeeling. You remember don't you - the one who could dance so well:

"That there wasn't a sound, for miles around.
"Save for fly buttons hitting the ceiling."

I know there's a spirit in her, but I'm not yet ready to take my eyes off the more obvious attributes and appreciate her for her spiritual qualities. Yet. And it might take more than a little while to get to that point.

If I have to say it after the above, then OK _ I like it!

( Uh, did anyone see where I put the choji sutra oil? I know it's around here... )

I haven't noticed that high yet. I've been fixated on on the lower curves so far, and haven't taken time to bother checking out hair and eyes.

So Rusty tell us how you really like her.;)

Not only can she dance like the girl "the girl from Darjeeling" she is as tough as any far northern girl who eats raw frozen seal meat for breakfast in the cold artic winter darkness.

The way mine cut through the 5/16" - 3/8" carriage bolt, think it was 5/16", by being pushed through the steel with vice jaws and sustained minimum damage that was easily taken out with a chakma and brought back to scary sharp in just a few minutes should be enough to impress anyone, even the Busse guys.:D:D:D:D

That should do it for the Busse guys Yvsa!! I have a Busse SteelHeart II I'll bring it to the Convention to show you!!

Ok, now you have it. Both the indian and the white guy like her.

( Next thing Yvsa will be claiming that Williams and Ree stole their material from him and me. )

Chris, mine's bigger 'en your's.:)

I have a Busse E-BM and a Basic #9, but I still love my khukuri's!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D

Guess what I pick up the most when I'm able to do a little serious work.;) hehehehe.

But go ahead and bring the Sttel Heart. I haven't seen one yet. And you can take a gander at my E-BM and see what you think about the handle mods I made on mine. The E-BM handle was just too dayumed big for me!!!!!!!!

A lot of people like the way Rusty thinks. He's my neighbor and I can tell you from personal observation he is a very nasty old man -- something like me! Maybe that's why we get along -- birds of a feather.

Only you and I know the real reason you avoid going thru Carson City when you make your trips to Reno.

Uncle Bill is making implications that I leave time for visiting Moonlight, Starlight and Kit-Kat Ranches ( Uncle can tell you if I missed mentioning one ). *EDIT*: - and Sagebrush Ranch! Dear me, how soon we forget!!!

Such scurrillous rumors are, alas, payback for my own aspersions.

When I grabbed for the HI Bird and Trout, I didn't hear back from him for several hours. Not the way Uncle does business. Finally, late in the afternoon, I sent a second message and got a reply. Uncle had sent a message earlier, but since it hadn't arrived, sent the second one.

I got the reply to my second message about five or six pm, and responded to let him know I expected the first message had stopped off on its way down to play the slot machines, have a few beers, and visit the ladies before completing it's route.

At ten PM it finally showed up in my mailbox. evidently pleased with itself and understandably so (ahh, if you only knew what I know about Uncle).

The gist of this thread sounds like both of you guys are too old to visit anymore, so you just let your e-mails stop and visit ???? Electronics are wonderful, but I never knew they could ..........HHHmmmmmmm:D

That pretty much sums it up, but every once in a while after our afternoon nap the dead have been known to come back to life.
