this is the thread to support a run of the old HI Bolo blade , again , my fat fingers fumble over tiny keys and my dull mind rolls liquid over the concepts of 'files' and 'pictures' -- please link the picture for me if anyone is with me on this, its in the special runs section

someone told me i think that it could not be done for some reason? but my memory blurs, this is just one of the most attractive blades of a non khukri style that HI ever made, and i would love to have one in my "wall of metal" -- help a bro out!

I love those as well, have not seen them in awhile. I would be down for one or a trade as well.

You know this one didn't really do anything for me when I found and posted the picture, but now looking again suddenly it's looking pretty gosh darn nice.
I have to quit hanging out with you guys, your a bad influence.
Make me want everything with a point or an edge or even just shiny.

I guess the best cure for an addict such as myself is to quit hanging out with other addicts like yall. Yeah right, like that's gonna happen.

Im after a HI barong if they would be up for it.
Wouldnt that be like the Spear Vala? Guess Barong would typically be a bit longer. Id buy one. I think a Parang would would be right down the lines of what the HI Kamis already do. I mean full length fullers and varying edge geometry. If you could imagine a really stretched out AK Bowie:D ...ok mind wandering again! Kamis could make a toilet paper spindle look good and id buy it!...thats a compliment btw!

I have a Bolo made by Sher. 20" OAL and 35 oz. It's an absolute beast with a spine that's a full half-inch most of the way to the tip. A massive blade with nice fullers. Not as shiny as your picture from the HI web site, but it's a blade that begs to be used for heavy work.

It's a mystery to me how this massive blade can weigh in at only 35 oz, but my postal scale doesn't lie. Must be the long, deep fullers.

Lads,

The bolo is called an iták or sundáng in Tagalog while in Hiligaynon, the blade is referred to as either a binangon or a talibong.-Wiki
I assumed it's the fat belly Bolo like this?
