I'm with satori, I think I need to have Gator97 take my pics. Absolutely beautiful. That bowie looks first rate.

purdy!, it'll look reel nice when y'all finish puttin' a good shine on it & tidy up that edge a bit. :D

Thanks guys :)
I dont' do this profesionally, nor am I a pro. Just an expensive hobby I guess.
Although if you have a cool knife i can take pix fr you, we'll se how it works.

Gator, incredible pics as usual, but that can't be stock. If mine had looked half that good I never would have sent it to Dan. How many hours did you spend polishing that thing and what did you use? That's what I want to know!

Thanks for any info.

Regards,

Norm

LOL, no, I swear all I did was wiped the blade with the cloth, and that took around 1 min. Lighting and PS do the rest. Bear in mind that's a blem..

Is the edge stropped or finished with a stone?

What goop or what grit of stone?

I gots to know. :)

Nice pics. Especially the magnified one.

Outstanding pics. As always!

If there were 2 tips, either photographically, or in the use of Photoshop, that everyone could use, what would they be?

Thanks,
Steve

Brise - No idea, the edge is NIB. Perhaps stone...

Ferguson - Well, new cameras do get a lot of work done.
Probably most important is to get good lighting ;) Shade being the best I think, unless you have photographic lights. Direct sunlight doesn't work for knives well.
And PS, I think is more important because cameras already do lots of things in automatic mode.
Lots of people underestimate the importance of shrpening. Even the most advanced cameras produce pix rather on softer side(unless you turn on sharpening in camera, which is IMHO still inferior to PS).
That's my 0.02 :) I am no pro by any means, and on the net there's lots of useful info, and on this forum there was a few tips and pointers on knife photography specifically.

Gator, you take about the best pictures I've ever seen. I bet Yangdu see a spike in AK bowie sales after this. I know I'll be getting one for my uncle's birthday later this year.
