Well looks like the rules do not allow me to ask the questions I joined to find out. I volunteer at the Habitat for Humanity Restore in JC Mo and we occasionally get boxes of items from grandpas shop for resale in the store, pocket knives included. I am looking for a place where I can get a basic understanding of the value of a knife, so we can sell it in the store. Your basic rules prevent that so..... If there are other places I can ask about a knife that just arrived can someone lead me there, thanks.

You can look the knives up on the big auction site under "sold listing" and see what others have sold for. You can also search the For Sale section here for active listings.
 
Well, if you get a knife and you don't know what it is, that you can ask here.

Then when you find out, you can search eBay "sold" listings. Don't just search completed because you can ask anything you want for a knife. The sold listing will tell you what someone actually paid.

So I hope you'll still visit here.
 
No need to be passive aggressive. We have the rules there for a reason, because people were abusing the system. A $30 gold membership will let you ask value to your hearts content and be able to sell in the exchange. It's a small price to pay IMHO
 
Seems like the store could cough up the $30 for a gold membership just for a good place to sell the knives coming in, much less the expertise in evaluations.
