I recently picked up a Cherokee Rose Bowie from another formite, and made some pants for it. This blade is no slouch, the overall length is 21 inches, so it took some leather to cover it. I did alittle carving on it as well. I thought given it's name, a rose would compliment it nicely. Did the carving and then some texturing. I really like how it came out. Hope you all like it.

In another post we were talking about leather dressing and such, here is the Montana Pitch dressing I was talking about, Great Stuff.

Thanks for checking it out.

Yvsa I am sure would be happy to see his creation in such a nice sheath!

I sure miss my good friend. :(

Great catch there Esav! One of these days I will have one. One day.

Nice sheath!

Carving and tooling are my next things to look at.

May I ask, how did you texture the front panel of the sheath? Thanks.

Thanks gents, I really like this Bowie, and is a beast for sure. I miss Yvsa as well, I spoke with him some on the HI sub, a true soul, and he is missed. The texture is done with a stamp, I have to go look at the stamp number to see which one though.

Very nice work but I do have a question, did you think about the thickness of the handle? It looks on the picture that the handle cause a bump in the backside. Most of the time when making a sheath I fill out the thickness so the knife will go straight in without pulling the beltloop back.

Good question Icewind, I did a reverse loop on this one and ran the leather down into the sheath. There is a very slight bump, but I wet molded it to do that so it would pull straight up and out. The pic give the illusion that its bigger than it is, must have been the lighting. Thanks for the checking it out.
