HI Cho construction (?)

Does someone could explain to me how the kamis are making the Cho of HI khukuries? Are they forged or filed?

OK,

I've 3 AK Chiruwa : Durba, Kesar and Bura.
Khukuries's cho of Kesar and Bura have traces of file; but not Durba's cho which is "wrought iron".
