Hi all. I've haven't posted here in a while but I just received my gold membership so I wanted to share some pix. Several months ago I purchased an HI Dui Chirra ("two fullers") made by kami Tirtha. The knife has the villager fit and finish which imparts a satin finish to the blade. Overall length is 18" and the handles are made of asare wood. The asare reminds me of oak in its texture; it's not as pretty as the satisal wood but it should prove durable. On this particular knife I sanded off the grip ring to make it more like an M43-type Khukuri which I really like. Hopefully, I didn't remove too much material from handle leading to cracking or breakage during use. I haven't had a chance to do any serious work with it yet, but it is a solid piece (it rings through when tapped lightly). I'm looking forward to acquiring more HI Khukris in the future as the models I want become available. Thanks for looking!

That is so sweet! Great job on the sanding. It kind of, funny enough, reminds me of a shark!
