Currently own a yellow handle case trapper and was wonder what other pattern does case and companies make. What would a baseline Great Eastern Cutlerlery knife be. I also want to try a Barlow knife but I must insist on a USA made

Hey Tyler ! Welcome!!!:)
The sky's the limit when it comes to patterns......just google up Case or Great Eastern and spend a few hours trying to make up you mind.
There sure are a bunch of patterns out there and this is a good place to see most all of them close up!

Enjoy!!

I'm a big GEC fan. I would just go to their website and browse their patterns. Theres a lot there. I'm a GEC junkie (after owning several Case knives and being let down by them on several occasions) the quality of the materials and craftsmanship is unrivaled at its price point (IMHO). They're pricier than a Case, but its worth every penny (and a lot of people here on the porch will echo my sentiments, I believe) and they are USA produced! However, they are mostly carbon steel bladed knives, so if you have a problem with that, you might want to look elsewhere, their stainless selection is extremely limited and more than likely shrinking steadily.

With that being said, its all about YOU! Look around a bit and find what you think looks cool and go from there (without holding or using them thats all you're really going to have to go on). GOOD LUCK!

For a first GEC I would recommend a single blade #73 pattern. They are available in lots of handle materials, colors, etc., and with long pulls or nail nicks to suit. Here is one of mine, a fancier one in primitive bone with match striker long pull drop point blade.
