Hello everyone,
I live in Sweden and really love knifes, i love the rat knives. Already got a Izula and have orderd a H.E.S.T. from knivesshipfree hope it gets here fast :).
I carry the izula every day wouldn't know what to do without it.
I also love camping and started with bushcaft.
Really like this forum :D

Hi and welcome guntherm. You'll find that the RATs are quite addictive.

Cool I find your thread just now, when my husband and I had the idea of going to Sweden for our holiday in summer. So I shamelessly take over your thread, to ask you: are any of the RATs not legal carry in Sweden?

Welcome to Bladeforums Guntherm!

Swedish law has a ban on "street weapons" in public places that also includes knives unless used for hobby, recreation (hiking and such) or work.
I dont imagine you can get away with strapping a RC-4 to your belt and going sightseeing.

Kmm is totally right, i don't carry a big knive when going to the shop or town only my izula as neck knife and sometimes a mora in my pocket.

so an Izula should be ok, while keeping bigger knives in my camping equipment?
(We'll probably be travelling with a caravan, so all knives can find a good home in the kitchen drawer, while we're not in the woods.)

An Izula should be ok, but not legal :P ! I live in Sweden to and i always carry my Izula around my neck.

You can't legally carry ANY knife out in public without a good purpose, for example work. But you can't follow the law all the time, there is to many stupid ones. :)

(When are you going to Sweden and where are you from?)

We're planning to go this summer, and I'm from Germany, where the Izula is legal - but I carry it concealed when going to town ... I hate people freaking out on me because of an Izzy ...

Got the H.E.S.T on friday, really nice way to begin my weekend:D
Thanks to the quick and great service from knivesshipfree.
I'm so happy with it.

I've been to Sweden in September (my third Sweden-trip already) and my impression is; the further up North you get, the easier the knife-attitude becomes. I've seen a few people belt-carrying fixed blades in a pizzeria, in Kiruna. The number of knives and firearms you can buy at any downtown Intersport-store says something too, I guess. :)

In Stockholm, I only carried a small Seb, and left it at the hotel when going out. Just common sense.

I guess it boils down to what your intent is. If it's for just having it then it's not ok to carry it in Sweden. Like others have said before, if you're using it for a specific purpose such as hunting, fishing, packing boxes while moving or whatever, then it's another story. There must be a plausible reason for you to carry it. Bringing a machete for fishing because it's "cool" or whatnot won't win you any points from the local Police...

Kiruna is the center from where all hikers fan out into lapland. No wonder theyve got a relaxed attitude! Almost everybody there goes hunting too. Great place :D

Thanks all, I have been reading so many threads here over the great quality and service from RAT so I couldn't resist to buy myself an Izula. 2weeks later I got my H.E.S.T. And now I have become addicted to their knives :D
Next will be the rc-3 and rc-4:D

Unfortunately I didn't get to carry a RAT when I visited Sweden. I think I only had my swiss army knife on me then, backpacking across Europe.

Welcome aboard. :D

Actually had a couple of rifle instructors from the Swedish military cme by the booth today. I gave them both Izulas to take home:)

Welcome. I haven't been to Sweden, but I visited your neighbors, Norway and Finland. Scandinavians are very nice people.
