Hi, I want to get my husband a 10" KMG but I just saw the Wilmont??? now I am not sure what is best.. I need help thanks

Firstly let me say that if it doesn't work between you two..... :D Just kidding, I have the best wife in the world and I'm saying that even though she's not looking. :D

You can't beat a KMG, if he wants to build one himself then you could go with the "grinder in a box" and order a variable speed motor and save a bit of money. The "GIAB" is in the materials and supplies for sale section.

Here's the link to the KMG website:

You are going to make him very happy! I have a KMG and I love it. I can't speak for the Wilmont. It seems really cool too though.

I love my KMG!

Are you asking about a Wilton Square Wheel? They sound very nice too but I've never used one.

no I just saw the Wilmont Grinder.. However he is always on this site and looking at the KMG. I am pretty sure I am going to get that for him just did not want to get it and find out I was getting the wrong thing?

I would recommend to get him the grinder he has asked for, that way you know he will like it.
My KMG is great and I really like it. Rob supports his machines with the best customer service.

I would think the Wilmont would be good too, it's just new on the market..

The Wilmont grinder seems to be an excellent machine, especially considering it price. The KMG is considerably heavier duty, however the Wilmont offers a number of improvements in design. As much as I can't believe I'm going to say it, I suspect that this is likely a decision only the user should make. Perhaps you should let him decide rather than doing it as a surprise? It's an awfully big investment to leave to chance...

Truly a wonderful gesture on your behalf, though! Good luck!!

If he's always looking at the KMG, I'd go with it. He'll have great support and a wealth of accessories available to him. I've never used a Wilmont, but the price is high to me compared to a KMG or even a Bader, especially considering it doesn't have a motor and they don't have contact wheels. Even if you decide to source a motor for your KMG elsewhere, Rob (the owner of Beaumont/KMG) has shown time and again to be helpful with every aspect of setting up his grinders and I've seen him help multiple people out on here that didn't buy their motors (and sometimes even their grinders) from him.

Thank you all for the Help. I took a photo of the KMG 10" package and put it in a talking frame (hope thats not silly).. Telling him its on the way! Wish me luck hope he loves it as much as everyone else... thanks again..

If I give you my wife's number will you call her and have her buy me one too?

All kidding aside, that is one heck of a gesture. He should love it. I've been drooling over one for years now.

April,
Not only will he love the KMG (and you) now, but he will love it years to come from now. It is a sturdy beast, and Rob Frink gives unmatched service and support.

What a wonderful wife! Can't go wrong with a KMG. The machine has been around for many years and is still top of the heap to most who have used them.

Nothin' says you love him like a KMG!.... especially when accompanied by a high quality respirator mask.

Rick

You are a good wife indeed April! :)
Rick's right. Page's wife got him a Trend Airshield. Something like 350$ but priceless if you compare to possible long term lung damage.

Yes definitely a respirator and make sure he wears it. You could also demand that he let you name the KMG. Maybe a name that will let him know how lucky he is to be married to you!!
