Hi

What is the thickness of the Mnandi blade?

and the Sebenza?

second question is, Is there a difference between the damascus and S30v in cutting? sharpening?

3- How does damascus look with hard use? Does it look less attractive than normal steel when used hard?

Thanks.

The Sebenza (both large and small) has a blade thickness of .125". The Mnandi is .09". The cutting ability and ease of sharpenning of the damascus will depend on the type of damascus. Unless you are a heavy user I doubt you'd be able to tell the difference between the two steels as far as cutting ablilty. I would think a damascus balde would look worse for wear but I suppose with reasonable care they would make a fine user.

I remember a post that suggests that,if you want to use a damascus blade, make sure it's not coloured damascus. (but I think CRK doesn't deliver coloured damascus any more...,just "plain" stainless damascus.)
May I add that I think that a damascus "user" blade is just totally tha shizznits!!!

Raoul...

I have a couple of Damascus blade Sebenza's. One is a Stainless Steel version and the other is a standard carbon steel Damascus. Both are VERY sharp and while I don't use them heavily (I'm an outside salesman type) I do carry them from time to time, and they both still look as good as new. I've never been able to find the exact Rockwell hardness rating on either of these type Damascus blades but the seem every bit as stout as a standard S30V blade.
