I have read these forums for a while and am getting ready to make some big purchases so I thought I would register. Look forward to interacting more, and hopefully adding to the conversation.

Hello, Nate....welcome. Remember this day...as it will lead to a frenzied, out of control, full blown knife addiction. This is how it all starts...

Welcome, Nate...we are all friends here...just don't bring any knife to show and tell as it can get out of control.

i know three ways to cure knife addiction and i'd rather not post them here. all i can say is: take care.

Hi Nate. remember it all starts with a cold steel or crkt then progresses to a Zero tolarance or an emerson
:-P

Well... What did you order??? Do share! And welcome. I joined almost a year ago and have really enjoyed this place. My bank account has suffered a bit but who cares. If you're just getting into this the only advice I would say is learn to sharpen. Keeps your knives useful and I find it to be like therapy almost. Helps clear my head. Welcome again!

"Hi Nate and welcome to BF,

with us you will find the perfect cure for knife addiction (which is, in most cases "buy more knives" or "buy both").
We will help you to not stray from the righteous path the lord set in front you and have set foot on, help you compare and decide on which new knife you want to get.
Moreso, BF offers extended help services ranging from steel to model and handle material comparisons as well as heat treat conversations sometimes directly from the makers themselves.
As soon as you reach a certain level of being "cured" you may want to consider high level production or custom model knives to reach higher echelons of Knifeaddictwalhalla.

In turn we ask you also ask you to apprehend to the knife addiction treatment and return the favor in helping other members and yourself to do all the task mentioned above.
We hope to cure you soon and be cured ourselves.

In best regards, John Mc.Grain"

All formalities done? Good! Nate, do please share with us with about the big purchases you mentioned asap.

So true for me. My first was a Cold Steel Recon 1... my wallet has never been the same since. Cold Steel -> Emerson -> Spyderco -> ZT progression so far for me. :)

What'd you get Nate?

Eventually you'll get a Sebenza, I haven't succumbed 'yet'. I'm trying to hold out from the hard liquor.

Probably.. but at the moment... I don't like how they look enough to want to spend that much, I'm sure they're amazing knives and I'd love to play with one, but I want to love how my knife looks as well, and to spend that much, I'm gonna have to LOVE it in every way.. I'm sure they'll grow on me, but I sure hope they don't!

Welcome. I went from Benchmades to a small Sebenza, then large, next large annual inlay, XM-18, now Lambert Flare with a custom Lightfoot on order.

It's only money!

It starts small, maybe a Spyderco Delica, then a Gerber Applegate Covert. Next thing you know, you spend $150.00 on a Benchmade Skirmish. Before you know it, you go to the Blade Show. Now you spend a couple of grand at the Busse booth, a grand at the Hinderer booth, $750.00 on a RJ Martin, where does it end! I just bought a JR Cook! I need help! Nate, if you can get your addiction under control, maybe you could be my sponser. Welcome to Blade Forums.

Welcome Nate ! Prepair for credit card meltdown . however buying wisely insures that your knives "could" be turned back into cash . But WHO does that ! :D

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !
