Ie just joined,im located in Ireland and I work as an aircraft engineer and enjoy metalworking and appreciate finer pieces of engineering which brings me to my question
I want to buy a case lockback whittler but I dont know where to purchase one as there are no shops that stock case knives in Ireland and in any case its an older knife I believe, so far it looks like im going to have to make my own as the prices ive seen on the internet are prohibitive for now.
All help and advice much appreciated
Tony

Welcome
Try checking in the "exchange" under traditional folders. You can get deals there. Also you could trade for one in the knife trade section.

thanks lads im just figuring my way round, perhaps I should put up a wanted thread,I would rather not trade any of my knives though, ive got mostly case and buck knives, ive found case to be a real mixed bag, sometimes its total perfection and sometimes its real poor work in important places, the knives im interested in are traditional folding knives

If you're interested in traditional knives, here is a sub forum dedicated to discussion of traditional knives:

Here is a sub forum dedicated to sales of traditional knives:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/f...raditionals-Slipjoints-Old-Timey-style-knives

And here is a list of dealers that support this site. You can order on-line from these guys and feel good that they are legitimate:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1089879-Paid-Dealer-Members-List

From that list, knivesshipfree.com has a great selection of traditionals (see their Great Eastern Cutlery section) and are particularly good to do business with although you can't go wrong with any of the dealers on that list that carry traditional knives.

Welcome to the site. Enjoy! :)
