Could someone please tell me more about these knives. I am told they are HI knives. Some more info would be great!

Also, how much are these worth on the secondary market. Both are new.

Thanks

Tenbrook

hi tenbrook
very nice knives the smaller one of the two looks like the two i.e.two kardas
that go with one of my ysav cherokee specials to be honest i wouldnt mind
the large one for my collection either
mick

Those look to be YCS Kardas, as lal chatri says, or the Kardas from one of these sorts of Khukuris...

These Yvsa Cherokee Specials come in a variety of handle styles, all with different carvings or inlay patterns or lack there of...

Yep, YCS kardas.

The larger is probably one of the ones that was sold as a stand-alone knife. There were a lot of requests for stand-alone YCS kardas, and some that were a bit larger as general-purpose knives. As usual, Yangdu accommodated us!

hi tenbrook
im 99% sure the larger of the two is a kumar karda a stand alone knife as cpl says
the smaller of the two could be the same or its a karda from a ycs set that some one's made into an individual knive just been having a looksee on the site and found the info there:thumbup:

ps
the kumar karda sells for $65===£40.48 + p&p from hi's own shop
if one turned up on the dod could be anyones guse what you sell
yours for is up to you but i wouldnt go over board because of what
you get them from h.i. and theres will be in first class order and new

hate to be a noodge but here are some Kardas so you can ID it yourself.
The larger one is a Stand Alone YCS Style Karda...
here are some to show which are which for you...

The one on the top and the one on the very bottom that loo like a leukku knife are the ones generally referred to as "Kumar Kardas." The top one is actually made by Kumar too. The other one was made by Lok. The two in the middle are referred to as YCS Kardas and are made to be sold alone without the set. Again, one was made by Kumar and the other by Lok.

They can also come with uncarved handles and larger blades in both styles.

lastly, Pala made some on his last visit to Reno which look like this

some with the walnut like this one, others with lighter woods like maple and teak.

not a problem warty my fault for not looking at the but cap close enough:foot: just the carved pattern and the sheath threw me off
cheers mick

Thanks Mick. Glad I was able to help and not make anyone angry! BONUS! :D

If a Kumar Karda shows up on the DOTD, sprain your fingers emailing to get it. It's very useful everyday knife. Mine (darn near a twin to the bottom one Warty posted) has the flat edge and does almost any light to medium cooking or general camp task.

Dino in Reno

The top one is worth $35
bottom one is worth $20

Thank you

The YCS Karda would look sweet on my kitchen mag block. A few more to go and they will all be hand made.
