Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a distributor of HI khukuris here in Aussie?
I got a quote from the states and it was going to cost me the price of the knife again in shipping :(

thanks
Dan

This lady is a sweetheart!!

Prove yourself pal.

Well worth it. Brent NZ

Questions? just ask.

Gshock300 is it any cheaper to ship them directly from Nepal?

Dan, sorry, but there is only one HI Dealer and that is Yangdu Martino in Reno Nevada. There are several Aussies with HI Khukuris. ;) :D

Maybe you folks down under could get together and have several khukuris shipped in the same box to save freight? Or is it some sort of import duty that is so expensive?

And your khukuris, goloks, parangs, bolos, barongs, kerambits, steak knives and letter openers. Better act not or they may all be gone. First the guns, then anything with a sharp edge. Tin can lids may be banned soon. Then you will be able to own canned goods, but not be permitted to open them. Maybe you could poke a hole in the lid (with what?) and suck the contents out through a soda straw.:D

Sorry gshock, what I meant, was buy from Yangdu in Reno as Yvsa
mentioned. Takes 5 days, costs $25US freight. Not cheap.

Have imported direct from Nepal - same freight. Blades are cheaper but do not have the same "presence" or guarantee.

All in all, my advice would be RUN NOW...
Forget HI blades. Too hard - Too much trouble - Too dangerous.

Munk & Bwray - Please try to curb your tendencies toward imperialism

Besides, where I live there is a plentiful supply of sharp pointy things readily availiable.
If licenced, firearms can be bought anywhere. Cat 'C'licence gets pistols and auto weapons.

I remember reading the post that suggested this - ignored it

How does things like that happen in a country like Australia???

My father told me when every they(Navy) would get in a fight with the British solders, that the Australian solders would jump in an help... Help the Americans that is!!! (This was in WW2 and the Korean Conflict...
And now you are adopting the style of laws that Britain('Great' left off intentionally, until the people there take back their country) has enacted...

BTW... I love my Survival Golok XXL, and I cannot wait to order one of your Combo Goloks... The only concern I have, is that it looks like the Combo Golok handle seems to be flattened, and does not look nearly as comfortable as a standard Survival Golok L... I can understand that profile in the Golok Kembar, because of the necessity of the two Goloks fitting together, but why is the grip on the Combo flat???
Hey, that $2.00 packing surcharge for the Golok Frog... Is that only if you order it by itself???

thanks for the info guys but to ship a HI kuk is abit more then I was willing to part with!
Im not ecstatic about our firearm regulation myself, had to hand in a semi auto shotgun in the buyback.
It all came about after the port arthur massacre where a whole buncha folks got shot up by this phsycho with a semi auto rifle.
its only automatic and semi auto longarms that are banned here btw, you can still own a semi auto if you have a farming pest permit.

Know anyone in the Forces that comes to the US on training/exchange programs? They might hand carry something back for you.
BTW, If you get a DOTD, the savings might well negate the shipping costs.
Food for thought......

Should of caught me earlier this month, I just came back from Sydney, Melbourne and Cairns on Sunday.

Would have sold you one of my HI Khukuri.

Don't forget though that unless you buy something over a couple of hundred dollars US there are no import duties nor do you pay GST on imported goods into Australia. Feel sorry for the British - from what I have read to import something over there can cost an arm and a leg. I live in rural Australia and don't have access to a great deal of things directly available to city folk. I find that the saving in GST, cheaper prices overseas, plus the delivery costs I would incur within Australia anyhow make it amazingly worthwhile buying from international websites.

Needless to say I have a far too large collection of HI kukuries.
