This sword far exceeded the high expectations I already had from seeing the smallish pics Auntie posted. A true work of art in blade, handle, and scabbard. Even the hilt is detailed like the blade. The handiwork by Rajkumar is again wondrous to admire.
It is also immediately noticeable upon picking it up that this is a very serious hacking type of weapon. The balance point is a full 4 & 1/2 inches from the hilt, with a long enough handle at 8 inches to allow you use a 1 or 2 handed grip very effectively to swing it with full force.
Sorry no pics of me chopping up stuff with this beauty. I can't bring myself to do it yet, she is too pretty to mar up the blade. Zombiebrainz might the first thing this blade tastes besides mineral oil.:D

As can be seen from the DOTD photo of my sword, the only one I have, there are Indonesian Swords and then then there is your Indonesian Sword, HairahSitna! :)

Congratulations on the most good looking Indo Sword I think HI has made ... and that scabbard has to be seen to be believed!

These are the details of mine from its DOTD thread:

HI INDONESAIN SWORD BY SHER THE (TIGER)

Overall length --27 5/8''
Weight -- 48 oz
Spine thickness --3/8''
Steel guard
Chiruwa style satisal wood handle
Brass bolster and tip
Standard leather scabbard

I do not blame you for wanting to keep yours unmarked, it really would be a shame to damage such a beauty.

At 3 pounds, getting mine moving takes effort but once underway, it feels if little could stop it. Stopping it 'following-on' in a full swing is a challenge for me.:o

If I had one which weighed about 28ounces I would not ever use a machette again. :D

But would you believe that the circumference of the grip is the smallest of all my HI swords, it is 3-5/8ths inches (95mm) and is able to be gripped with one or both hands.

Thanks for you excellent photographs and impressions.
