So guys and gals, I recently got the hotly debated knife, the CRKT Hi-Jinx. All in all its a great knife, the blade is beautiful and has a wonderful shape to it. It came insanely sharp and just felt exceptional in my hand because that length of knife is probably my favorite length for a knife (about 8 inches....my favorite production knife being the 0801). Anyway, as most other who received the Hi-Jinx, I was experiencing some sticky lock, but that went away once the lockbar positioned itself around 45%. Today while I was playing with the knife I heard some rattle and that rattle was vertical play (up and down), but when you push the lockbar anywhere past its "default" positioning (the 45%), the lock will get sticky and the vertical play will stop.
Will this play go away over time with wear, or is it going to stay like this? I've never had a knife with vertical play and I do not know how to compensate for it and I doubt that I will be able to bend the lockbar to ensure more contact with the blade tang, providing for a more secure, and solid lockup.
This issue literally just arose about a day ago, but I do love the knife, it feels sturdy, despite the rattle and is an absolute looker IMO.
Hope y'all have a nice evening, and thanks again!
