So far the HI kamis that I know of is the ff names: tirtha, arjune, rajkumar, dharan, lachu, lok and bhakta. Can you assist me in finding out what's their kuks speciality? As of now the blade that I have is a deradune by tirtha , and I'm waiting for the siru 17' and a 20' also by tirtha.Does the kamis have their favorite model or type of kuks to make?

I have:
Chitlangi by Tirtha
Ganga Ram by Lok
BAS by Rajkumar
Bilton by Rajkumar
BDC by Lachhu
KLVUK by Keshar Lal

Of course my Chitlangi and BDC are the prettiest and most flawless blades.
But my blades by Rajkumar have a flare to them that makes me want more of his work. My BAS that Rajkumar made is the Khukuri that all my friends lust after and prefer using.
And all that said, my Ganga Ram by Lok is my favorite user.

In addition my klvuk by keshar lai is also on the way, still waiting for a week for the delivery though. Can I ask HI for a specific kami to make a certain model khukuri from the store? Can all HI kamis are capable of making all kuks model?
If I have the fund (I hope) my goal is to have the majority kamis mark on a specific blade (wishful thinking) :)

Most of what I have are Tirtha and Bhakta. A couple from Rhajku and a skattering of others including a large Bura.
I've seen many M43s and farm knives come from Tirtha I also have 2 YCS by Tirtha as well. He used to pump out quite a few of these. Don't forget the Tirtha Bowie too..These 4 seem to be his specialty imo. GR and AKs from Bhakta I used to see alot of. Rhajku seems to do alot of swords or more intricate work in general I wish I had more from him.
Lacchu I see most if not all recent kerambits done by so that must be his specialty. Im pretty sure my Astk is by him as well which I've seen in the recent months come from him.

That's my point exactly, pretty much tirtha is the main producer of hi next is rhajkumar, bhakta and lacchu. As if they have their own specialty when it comes to making kuks. I'm not questioning tirtha's work coz he makes outstanding blades, its just that the other kamis aren't doing the same type of knife, a healthy competition would be nice. Others should be given a chance to make their own version of hi model, that would be nice to see.

I've emailed yangdu about it, from her response you can order a specific blade with all your specs included and choose a specific kami to make it for you. I think that will fall on a special order basis I think???

Unless she has one already, yes.

All of my Sirus are by Tirtha, so I assume he is the primary Kami for these

Both of my ASTKs are made by Lacchu as well as one of my CAKs, I assume he mostly deals with "full tang" style Khukuris.

I have two CAKs by Bhakta also. Seems he makes a lot of these.

Rajkumar is kind of all over the place. I have two Manakamana specials by him but it appears that he makes a lot of HI's swords and special edition type knives.

So far this is what I gather from your reply:
Tirtha (sirupati,bowie,farm knives,m43,chitlangi,ycs,kobra)
Rajkumar (manakamana specials, swords, anything in between kuks blades?,deradune, bilton, bas)
Lacchu (astk,kerambits)
Bhakta (caks,aks,ganga ram,)
Lok (ganga ram)
Keshar lal (klvuk)

If I miss a few fact pls feel free to point it out. Its kinda freaking hard using a bb cellphone and scrolling up and down in a small screen :-)

Arjune (BAS, Ganga Ram)

I own both...

A while back I made a special order for a YCS by Tirtha. I asked for a white horn handle chiruwa style with a thicker/heavier worker blade with villager finish and white brass. The blade came with two white horn kardas and a brown sheath. It was slightly more expensive but it came as I described it. Extremely pleased with it. It's worth making a custom order or two IMO if you really want something specific by a specific kami. Although I specced the YCS to be a user, I still can't bring myself to put it to hard use.. It's just too pretty. :)
