I think they got some rain. I can almost make out the casino in the background;)

The Kora is an awesome sword. It takes a real master with a hammer to get it right, and IMHO, I don't think I have ever seen an equal HI sword to what Kumar is pounding out right now. Simply gorgeous.
 
Oh man! That right there is the custom blade i always wanted to keep a secret and show off to my buddies after i won the lottery! All I can say now is &^$%%*&^....you can fill in the blank. That ...oh nevermind! Im headed to the corner circle store for some tickets. Wish me luck!
 
Tonight's episode of "Forged In Fire," the History Channel tv show, has the bladesmiths making a Panabas, a Philippine blade that looks a lot like the HI Kora.

The main difference is that the Panabas has its edge on the outside of the curve, while the Kora seems to have its edge on the inside. Also, the Panabas has a longer handle designed for a two handed grip.

I saw that episode too. Was a pretty neat blade and sure looked like it could do plenty of damage! Ill take a Panabas and a Kora! They will both KeeeeL!!!

I'm surprised this hasn't been grabbed yet. (Maybe the thread title should be changed to "Kora" instead of "Katar"?)

Looking through the HI archives, I haven't found any other Kora made by HI, although some people were saying how they would like one.
 
Im waitin for the handle to dry out and crack. Maybe it will go up on a DOTD as a BLEM so I can afford it:D?

Thats a joke yall know! Id never do that to HI. Its a metal handle btw.
