Hi, is there any chance that there will be a HI M43? I would really like to get an M43 in a few months.

Also, I would like to say that this is one of the best furums that I've ever been to. Keep up the good work :)

Welcome, Wild. I asked for a couple of m-43s and so far have received nothing. I think they want a model to work from.

A M43 would be a nice addition. The intergral bolster would be much more durable. Maybe even less handle cracking.

What do you think they will cost when you get some in?

Anyone, have a sample and willing to do a wood prototype? I would be willing to make a wood prototype but I only have the pictures on the H.I. sight to go by.

There are several different sizes and variations of the m43 as far as I can tell and I think this is why the kamis are not making anything. We may have to send a model and nail things down that way.

Uncle,

Why don't you ask them to create two versions? One style shouldered, one curved. The forumites could then vote which one they like better, though I'm sure that both styles will be liked.

I would love to have one of the curved ones myself. Has anyone had experience using an original? They look like they would be good users.

A good model insures a 95% rate of accuracy no matter what it is
of.:D
And 95% is a good return as usually the lost 5% is an improvement done on the model, from experinced metalsmith's, at least that's been my experience.
It would really be interesting to be at BirGhorka and able to communicate directly with the kamis.
There's no telling what would come of something like that.:D

If you are on site and can watch each step of the process the kamis can make just about anything you can think of -- it's the long distance communication, going thru 3 or 4 people that gets things screwed up.

Yvsa,

Your comment about direct communication is amusing to me. I have many humorous attemps to break the language barrier. Uncle Bill brings up a good point about watching it step by step.

M43 model finished!!!!!! It needs paint but I'll get it shipped in a couple of days. It is a exact duplicate of a M43 I have that belongs to a good friend.
God Bless.
Terry

If that means it's got the continuous curved spine and short-tailed handle, then bless you, Terry. And bless you again!

An M43 model? Sweet! :) My Boss just upped my hours so maybe I'll be able to afford to get one soon.
