Hi models in villager finish, Is this an option

Hi long time lurker at blade forums, I want to order a m 43 form HI but I prefer a villager finish. Is this an option or is it restricted to DOTD? also is handle material an option as well or luck of the drew? Thanks in advance.

As busy as auntie Yangdu is she always answeres her E-mails. If you have a specific needs then your best bet is to ask her directly. Most likely she will try to accomadate you.

Which is HI's website ordering page. You sometimes get a choice of type of wood on a few models but nothing else.
The best way to get a choice of handle material, finish, and weight (although weight is not guaranteed) is to email Ms. Yangdu Martino and Special Order your Kukri. She will inform you on the rest. See example below.


The original specifications I sent for a M43 by email:
- Villager fit and finish
-Wood handle
-24 oz (or 680 grams) Weight
This Special Order took ten (10) weeks to arrive at my door. Everything was correct but the M43 was heavier than 24 oz.

DOD or DOTD (Deal of the Day) are Kukris that for many reasons were not sold to their original costumer or possibly excess Kukri were made and those became DOD's. You get the idea. So they are as it. They appear and are bid on. Some of my favorite working Kukris have come from DOD's.

Blems are Kukris that can not be sold at regular price because of a defect (cracks, wood shrinkage, scratched blade, etc). These are usually deeply discounted and a great Nepali Khukuri buy.

I emailed Ms. Yangdu Martino about if it was possible getting a m43 in villager and wood handle,
the answer was that they were out of stock and some would be in with a month.
If i special order one is handle length an option, because I have small hands and some of the handles on them look massive.
Also is it much more costly getting a special order?

No, sorry. You can ask but it is up to the Kami how long or short the handle will be.

There is no, notta, zero extra cost in special ordering. It just lengthens the delivery date from my experience. For the M43 it cost $195 USD total for a regular order and $195 USD total for a special order. Shipping costs are included.
