Oh dear, I seem to have acquired the same affliction as many of you. I ordered one Busse & even before it was delivered, I'd bought another.

So I thought that I'd better share:

Busse3.jpg

Now on the lookout for a convex satin SFNO to make up the trio...

Tell me though, is it normal for Busses to come blunt as old Harry? Admittedly, I'm a bit anal when it comes to edges (if it won't shave then it's not sharp) & I'm having a devil of a job to get an edge on the High Street (haven't even tried on the ASH yet).

Hi John. :) Welcome to the Busse Forum! I see that you already know the rulez...nice pic!!! ;) :D:thumbup:

legaleagle, I will move your post from the duplicate thread into this one, brother. :)

RancidBadger,

Give me a moment to fix the post order in your thread here... Looks like this old HOG needs to learn a new Mod trick. :o

ETA: RancidBadger Please bear with me, I have a chronological order problem and VBulletin is being stobborn. You might find both threads locked for a moment while I switch content to the other thread to see if i can have your OP as post #1.

Stand by, please! :)

OK, John, I think that it's fixed now. All content is as you wrote it, I just moved post #1 from your newer duplicate thread to Post #1 of this thread and deleted the incomplete post. Sorry for the confusion! :o:)

BTW, you can edit and add content to an existing thread (post) as needed.

Again, welcome to the Busse forum, and if there's anything I can do to help, please feel free to ask! :)

My name is Wolfdad and I am a Busse-aholic. This is great stuff. I heard the first step to treating an addiction is to admit that I am an addict. .................now what....

There was a period of time where the edges on Busse's left much to be desired. I understand this has been addressed, and all new Busse's come with a much better edge. There is a sticker included on the cardboard sheath that has the name of the Busse employee who sharpened it. You know exactly who to blame if you're not happy with the edge.

Welcome to the addiction......

Great start!

I miss my Ash1. Replaced it with a SarQ, and I do love the SarQ!

Never had a High Street.

As to edge issues, The high street is not the easiest to sharpen, because of the recurve.

I have had good luck with the exception of the edge on a BAD and KzII.

The BAD had a wire edge (which was just great by me). Hit it with a strop and it was laser sharp. That one moved on. Now I have a different color handled bad.

The KZII had a great edge right up till the tip, which was too obtuse. It was destined for a convex edge anyway, so it was not a problem.

So you are saying you are addicted to Busse and would like to quit? That's easy, send me your knives and I will keep them and you should already be broke so can't buy any more. Problem solved =)

sfno would be a great as a third busse, in my opinion either a convex or a v grind sfno will be excellent! why limit yourself to a convex edged one? sfno had v grinds until fairly recently.

I wasn't aware that the SFNO had come with a full v-grind, I thought that the only options were fully convexed or sabre grind & I'm just not keen on sabres.
