Hello everyone, new guy here in the Buck Forum. I am a Buck knife owner; I am posting a photo of my model 500 that my Dad gave me back in 1980. This knife was with me when I was an U.S.A.F. KC10 crewchief. It has literally been around the world.

I was hoping someone could post a photo of a Buck 501 and 112 next to a 500? I am planning to order either a 501 or 112 from the Buck Custom Shop soon and I am having a hard time deciding between the two. Eventually I will probably own both but right now I am split between the two. I can handle a 112 at the local store but 501 is not in stock around here to handle.

Any help?

Thanks for dropping in. I really enjoy my Duke. Early or new, it's just right for me. Thank you for your service. DM

Here is a 112 frame re-bladed with a 482 blade, 500 and 112 have same length blade (I don't have a regular 112)
and a 500
and a 501 (much smaller overall than a 500..... excellent size for a pocket knife)

here are the 112 and 500 side by side to compare thickness.....
Note that the 112 is a.bit thicker than the 500.....

And here are the 501 and 500 side by side for thickness comparison. ...

and the 501 and 500 sheaths..... (500 and 112 sheaths are the same size)

Wow! Thank your DesertChris for the photos; that tells me what I need to know. As much as I like the 112 it is too large for an office environment.
