I didn't see a separate forum for intros so I hope this is OK here.
I found this forum while researching the ER Nemesis that I'll be purchasing in a couple of weeks. I've carried an SOG Flash II aluminum for around three years now and have nearly sharpened the serrations right off the blade. It's just as well as I didn't want a serrated blade to begin with, but the aluminum handle model doesn't come with a straight blade. Or at least at the time it didn't. I'm not really very fond of plastic handled folders no matter what they're calling the latest space-age plastic.
I have a few unremarkable fixed blade knives. A Buck 650 in black, a K-Bar USMC issue, and an older Cold Steel SRK. All three are very sharp and hold an edge well. The Buck and the SRK I inherited after my father passed away a decade ago. None get very much use as I don't hunt any longer and do very little hiking. I also have a very nice new (blued) Romanian bayonet for one of my 8mm Mauser rifles.
I'm not really a collector yet, but I've always liked knives. I collect firearms. Walther firearms, and am somewhat of an historian on the line from the Model 1 onwards. I've built several AR series rifles and FAL's including my current StG.58 from a new Austrian parts kit on an Imbel receiver about a decade ago. Love shooting, collecting, and researching. I also have a new unissued 1956 8mm Mauser and a WWII example coded bcd.
I'll be lurking about and asking the odd question from time to time. Nice place you have here.
