just wondering if you can still get a hi saex knife still, anyone remember around what one would cost.thanks.

You can still find them occasionally. I think there were a few up for DOTD a couple months ago for around $55. If you want one though you better be quick on the draw when one comes up as they go quickly. You may also want to send Aunti Yangdu an email and ask whether she has any on hand that are for sale.

Adding to erhodes' statement. For $55 USD (at times more more) I find it easier to get and cheaper to buy a hi-quality Seax from Himalayan Imports than other custom Seax makers. Below photo is of an old Seax in a British museum.

I keep an HI seax in my briefcase:) never leave home without it.

I have so many knives that hardly see much use these days, even so, I still want a HI Seax. :) It's probably my Scottish Heritage coming out. ;)

12 years as a member and friend of this forum and one would tend to accumulate a few things.:D
I'm only on my 5th year and have more knives than i can use in one lifetime.

I meant to quote Steely_Gunz. Carrying a seax in a briefcase, honestly. Why not have a rig made for middle-of-back wear? ;)

I have a rig for shoulder wear as it is literally a pain in the butt to sit down with a Seax strapped to my lower back:p
As for as to WHY I carry it in the briefcase...Well better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it...also, I think I was cleaning up my office one day and just stuck it in there:p I don't really need a briefcase very often.

And to clarify, I work for a family business...my family's business:) For all the stress, aggravation, and long hours, at least I have the authority to bring whatever sharp and pointy things I would like to bring with me on a daily basis. Just looking around the office there is a 22" GRS, a 14" Trisul, a Tibetan Knife, 3 multi-tools, about 4 pocket knives of various makers, a 50# recurve bow (I like to do a little impromptu archery in the empty field next door to blow off some steam), a .45 Glock, and a Marlin 336 rifle that I'm cleaning up:D

Jake, you need more knives and tools in your office. ;) Looks like I have 4 knives and a multi tool at my computer, 4 knives and a machete on my large work bench, more knives, machetes and Hawks/hatchets hanging on peg hooks behind my computer desk. Hey, there's my Case Sodbuster Jr. Next to my speakers... 5 knives on my computer desk alone.

Karda has it nailed! I really started buying knives in 1999 or 2000. Joined Bladeforums mid 2000. Was on Knife forums a year before that. Over the last 13 years, I've collected a ton of knives and other edged tools. Buying and trading into used knives is a great way to increase ones collection on a budget. The last 4 knives that I've gotten were either gifts or trades. :)
