Hiya

what would you class as your favourite style of Buck?

The "old school" 110's or the Hi Tech Tempest type knives?

Hi Maverick!
I LOVE ALL BUCK KNIVES!!!
I have both 110's and Tempest "type"
I prefer to use the Hi Tech knives and collect the "old school" knives!
I do have a 110 for use but only one!

Old school. I prefer it overall in knives and when it comes to high-tech I personally think other brands have outclassed Buck.

...Like Mike it's 110's and 112's for me...BUT...The 532 has THE spot in my heart...so I'd guess I was "old school"...:D

That's a tuff choice to make...That Buck Mayo TNT is a fine knife..but I would throw it in the edc pile for....a 117, brown jigged bone and a 1095 or 0-1 blade(hint, hint, on the next Club fundraiser knife)

Perhaps I should expound a little. I collect 110's and to a lesser degree 112's. I do have "high Tech" knives too though. I carry my Buck Mayo TNT to work most days or sometimes my Sirus. But my heart belongs to the 110's and 112's and when I really don't have to worry about someone frowning on me carrying a knife, it's a 110 or 112.

Regular edc leans to hi-tech.

Come hunting it is Hi-Tech/Old school... That would be a 110 with S30V

I'm not a big fan of Buck's "tactical" offerings... so I guess I'm more of the old school.

I love the 110, but I don't carry them. The only Buck I occasionally carry is an old 503, it's just about the perfect size for when I don't really need a knife but a knife may come in handy for something. The old 440C is wicked sharp and as small as the knife is, it can handle some pretty big jobs.

My views are just about exactly those of DarrylS. 110s are great but I have a stronger love for the 532. I also collect 300s. Old Scool.

I tried the hi tech....the knives were too "lite" ....560,186... you had to hold the knives tighter in your hand ....the weight of the 110 make it an easier feeling .....while cutting, so it's old school for me 110.

i really think buck does better with old school designs like the 110/112 etc. i also like the bucklite line, to me these don't fall into the high tech area since they are basically just traditional designs done in high tech polymar{plastic}
over the years i've had really good luck with buck and will stick with them.
later, ahgar
btw the 889 is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

My EDC knife is the mayo 172 and it comes with me everywhere except the airport.

I hunt with a Crosslock PBS in the pack and an Alpha Dorado riding on my belt.

With the Mayo as my favorite I guess that makes me new school and I adore S30V

Hi CJ

I was more talking about the style... classing the Tempest as Hi-Tech and knives like the 110 being "old school"

I like them all.... but the old school 110 still feels like a proper knife and not a toy like some of my Benchmades.

Old school!

My "use around the house" knife is now an old .112. that I got on eBay. I had to work a long time reprofiling the edge, but now that it's done, I use it all the time.

HW90,
Welcome to the forum and Buck's official 12-step program site for those of us that have tried to kick the Buck habit but have failed miserably. :o
