Hi from a new member from Norway. Hope I don't post this in the wrong forum section.

Been here, reading a lot the last weeks in my search for a good quality all-round purpose knife. As a knife newbie, there is a huge jungle to go through, but thanks to your insight and knowledge, I have started to be educated on the different things that I believe will make a good knife for my use.

I finally decided that I wanted to go for a Fiddleback Forge after reading the good reviews and seing youtube videos. Either the Hunter or the Bushcrafter. I really like how the handle are shaped, and think it will fit my hand nicely.
When I found this one, it just spoke to me. I think it looks beyond awesome! A real user.

Looking forward to its arrival, and I have a feeling that this might not be my first and last custom knife, I know from experience how it all goes with these forums...

Thank you all for sharing your knowledge, this site is a great resource!

Hello and welcome. Definitely not the wrong forum to post this in. Andy makes fantastic knives and the Hunter is an awesome looking design. I'm sure you'll love it and look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

That's an excellent choice. That's Shadetree burlap there. Pretty stuff. Welcome aboard!!! Thank you for supporting Fiddleback Forge!

Hey guys, thank you all for your replies.

Bad news. The knife have not arrived in Norway yet. Looks like USPS managed to mess it up this time. Last known from tracking is that it left the US the 14th. Should have arrived in our customs by now, since it was sent as Express.

I told Lee at Lee's Cutlery, and he has contacted USPS. They are trying to locate the package. I really, Really, REALLY hope they did not mess this up! Such an awesome knife.

Well, I guess I have to wait a few days and see if it surfaces :(

Just because it should have made it to your customs by now doesn't necessarily mean it should have made it trough them yet. With all of the suspected terrorist activities out there and all the drug trafficking the customs may just be busy.

Then again it is a Fiddleback...someone may have found it irresistible...

Maybe the package is waiting to be processed by customs, but its arrival should have been registered and been visible in our postal systems tracking information. Each step through customs does always show in the tracking information, so I doubt they have it, unless it is sitting in a pile waiting to be registered as arrived. That is unlikely though.

But... you are right about someone may have found it irresistible. I almost can't blame the person ;)

My experience for Belgium:
Two or three days from USA to Belgium.
At least one week in Customs.
One or two days from customs to the doorstep.
On average about two weeks.

Only ones in + 10 years I was lucky and received a knife from Japan in three days without having to pay extra for customs and import taxes.

Tracking only goes to the point it's checked in customs (in Belgium)

In Norway, the tracking is updated when the item arrives at the airport, where the customs/post facility is, then each step in customs and handling is registered electronically thus trackable as the package goes through the different procedures.

On a side note, I think I have already said this, only with other words lol. Oh well... =)

What a beautiful knife! Pictures does not do it justice. This is my first custom made knife, and I was stunned by its beauty and craftmanship when I opened the package. Oozes quality.
I hope to test it in the woods soon, and will try to take some pictures at the same time.
Another really nice surprise was the thin black liners. I did not know it had them, as it did not say in the description, but looks beautiful.

Looks like the Hunter is on its way after all! It arrived in Norway yesterday. Only took 21 days from it left the US until it arrived in Norway. Not bad for an Express package ugh! Good thing the knife is not lost though =)
