Just thought I would share some info I have had using both since both are pretty much what everyone uses.

I will start off by saying the PP super 8 beats the sx1 by a long way.

What I have found to be so distasteful about the sx1 is how easily the color comes off of the sx1. All you literally have to do is run it between your fingers and your fingers look like a highlighter. I got tired of my new met 16 being covered in every Crack and crevasse with neon yellow powder. I would have to go thought it with windex and q tips and clean it all out and that happened about 5 or 6 times. It also picked up the color of the water VERY quickly, so if you were fishing stained or muddy water, withing a couple of cast, the line on the spool would look the same. As far as the strength of the braid I did not ever have a problem with it.

I switch to the yellow PP super 8 15lb braid and it is way way WAAAYYY better in color retention and smoothness. I fished all day yesterday and had ZERO bleeding of the color and doesn't even look like it had been used. I use super 8 on everything else and this is just as good as the rest. Super smooth and actually stays yellow.

Just my thoughts

I've had the same experience with the high visibility fireline as you had with the sx1. Lost its color in no time and left a waxy residue all over the reel and guides. I didn't need the braid, so I switched to the high visibility sufix elite and have been very happy
