Hi from South Carolina. I’ve always been a knife guy. I’ve always had a pocket knife in my pocket for as long as I can remember. When I was young my grandpa showed me how to do basic sharpening with an old oil stone. I still free hand sharpen knives occasionally but I’m planning on investing in some good quality Japanese water stones. I don’t need them it’s more of an I want them. Anyway way. Hi

Welcome aboard.
Your story sounds eerily similar to mine, I have a handful of various stones including a Norton IMI313 tristone that I use now and again and some King stones in a cabinet somewhere. Most times I’ll put em on a Wicked Edge.

How do you like the Wicked Edge? I’ve got an Edge Pro. I’ve used for about 10 years. But I don’t like having to hold the knife.

Using a Wicked Edge is almost like cheating. It takes so much of the human element out of it, it may not feel as rewarding but it gets results like nothing else I’ve ever used.

Cool. I posted a more in depth topic about my sharpening situation in the maintenance section. Anyway I’m tempted to sell my EP and get either a WE or a Tormek T8. I may bite the bullet and get both. Hahahahaha thanks
