I have never really invested in a good quality blade before, and from what I have read this might be a damn good price for this kind of steel. Would I have a reason to be wary? Any input would be appreciated

Mmmmmh, no, a damn good price for this "kind of steel" is the Spyderco Native at Wally world for something like $35.

No real reason to be wary. The leek is a nice knife. If you do a search for S30V you will see that it can be a bit iffy when it isn't treated right. I haven't really seen many complaints about Kershaw's S30V though.

I have bought two products recently from 888-knives-r-us and they have treated me well. Had to return one of the two products and it was handled unproblematically and courteously (sent me a new product with a return lable included, which went out the door the day after they received my email about a problem with one of the two products). So, two thumbs up for the store from me.

So, yeah, nice pick, but nothing you would have to elbow old women and children aside to get to....

Haha, what a bummer I was looking forward to some elbow exercise. Thanks for the input
