Leaving for Iraq Sunday morning with the 25th Infantry Division's 2nd Brigade Combat Team. Headed for Kirkuk; dunno what sort of internet connectivity we'll have there.

I lurk far more than I post, so my absence will scarcely be noticeable. :D

Just wanted to wish everyone well, and let y'all know that a few more HI Khuks are marching off to war. I've cobbled together a rig for my 15.5" AK (by Kumar) using a southpaw dropleg pistol holster that clips to my pistol belt. The khuk's sheath fits snugly in the holster, and the retaining strap slips across the mouth of the scabbard, keeping the blade from sliding out past the cho. I have a pic of the rig, but no way to post it, as my member is not gilded.

I sent a 16" Chiruwa AK, an 18" GS and a 21" Chainpuri ahead in my team box, and there's a 21" Siru (also by Kumar...the AK and the Siru look like a matched set) in my duffle bag.

Hope to return in a year or so with some interesting Khuk stories. If I have access, I'll post here occasionally to let y'all know how the blades are faring (unless they're just languishing in a CONEX somewhere).

Best of luck to you. I believe all of us here at the forum are grateful for your service on behalf of our country. It sounds like you will be well accompanied by the best hand tools that can be had for the environment you are heading off to. Again, I wish you well and do take care of yourself and your mates.
 
Don't know what your MOS is and what your unit will be doing or billited, but some of the 2nd ACR soldiers have complete 24 hour use of the internet.

Be safe and hope your time there goes by quickly.

Tommy I doubt anyone here has a gilded member; I've heard that Donald Trump had his gilded though. Better than marrying Britney Spears on an off day.:D ;)

You are the one who needs to take care. Watch yer arse and keep it covered and come back safe to us with lots of good khuk stories.
