Can someone tell me what they think of the Pro Throwers, I initially got these about 6+ years ago (maybe more??), tried using them for awhile, wasnt really any good with them.

I am just wondering how they compare to others, are they really supposed to be that good of a throwing knife (if so, they I just plainly stink, and will stick with my other great knifes :) )

Thanks

OK, I was holding off on responding to see what others say. I think you will find two opinions for ANY Hibben knife. The first opinion will be they are fine for throwing, just having fun, or entertaining yourself. The second opinion is that they are way to small, way to light, and as far as competitive throwers go, not very desirable.

My in-your-face opinion is: if you find them cheap, real cheap, or someone gives them to you, they are a good knife.

Considering I picked these up 6+ years ago for $30 for the set, they were fun to toss around, I just didnt have anything to compare them to.

Thanks..... :)

I have 2 sets of throwing knives. the first is the cheapest, which is some kind of soft steel, made in tawian, bends if you throw it at wood!

These are handle heavy, but a little longer and heavier than the Hibben throwers I have, which is the other set I have.

The hibben throwers cost me 3 times as much as the cheap ones. They are shorter, but sharper and look better. Also, you can safely throw them at wood without them bending, even when I miss and they hit concrete nothing much happens (probably not throwing them hard enough I hear you think! ;))

Anyway, i find them to be nice dinky knives, and use these as my primary throwers. However, I don't like them too much as they really need to be thrown by the handle (don't ask me why!) and the weird size/shape of it makes it slightly uncomfortable to hold properly. Blade is nice though I don't seem to be as effective with them as handle. I must say though, at least with the hibbens they are truly balanced and can be thrown either way.

I generally throw my hibbens first, and if I'm bored will take a step forward and power the cheap ones into the archery target I use, a step being the required distance I feel. these aren't as unifor in flight, but being basically a dart, go straight through the soft target. If i'm using hard targets, or want to use more skill, I use the gibbens.

hope these insane mumblings help!
