Because:
1) ...the crossguard looked like it was intended differently before the smith
accidentally broke one side off and decided to call it "asymmetrical",
2) ...the arrow (is that an arrow?) was to indicate to retards which end was
the blade, as it looks like each end was dealt with with the same level of
halfassity,
3) ...it looks like a piece of the guard fell loose and slide down the blade some
5th of the way,
4) ...it looks like they ran out of a sharpening stone and decided to just line
the side of the blade (lower 5th) will bicycle chain,
5) ...grip looks like it was ripped from the design of an icescraper for a
windshield,
6) ...the pommel was obviously removed from a cheap walmart water faucet,
7) ...the plaque was leftovers from wallhanger LOTR knockoff knockoffs, or
possibly a decoration removed from a cupboard,
8) ...the "scabbard" was made as cheaply as it was so if you sit on the
sheathed blade, only your sword will break,
9) ...of it's design, as a cheaply-made blade may eventually suffer some
damage. In this event, one can always pass it off as being "battle damaged"
seeing as how the rest of the design is prepared to look like $hit, and
10) ...I appreciate the consideration taken as to make the product overall
trash, quality-wise, as to be able to afford the addition of Gil's signature. If
he had put his name to a superior piece, nobody would have been able to
afford this much for non-functional jewelry.
