Hello guys,
New poster, long time reader of the forums..

I was just wondering if there wood (pun intended) be any interest in premium white hickory, axe, or hatchet haft staves for making your own haft from scratch?

The reason I ask, is I had a few axe heads that were piling up, and I had used my last stave a few years back to hang an old Kelly for a friend. So, I selected and cut a nice hickory a few days ago just for the purpose of hanging a few axes, and replenishing my stave stash.

While I was splitting the first cut from the freshly fallen tree into staves, I thought of how nice it was to be able to select a perfect tree for this task. I also thought there must be others out there who would love to do the same, but just don't have access to a resource to do that..

Yes, absolutely. I have wanted to give that a try. I'm sure that I could put my hands on an appropriate piece of firewood for a hatchet or hammer, but I don't know where I would put my hands on a piece of raw hickory that was 4 feet long. I image that if I asked, a tree service would sell me a long round, but yes, definitely interested. I think shipping would make or break this.

Shipping was my concern also, I'll have to check in on that. I have seen mailing tubes, and long boxes, but I don't know if they would be flat rate, or by weight.
