Hidden pin slipjoint?

Hi guys.

Need some advice. I've been making a couple of slipjoints and slowly getting better at it.

What would your advice be on achieving a pinless look on a slipjoint? Is it possible to build the knife, minus the scales, and then add the scales afterwards using a hidden-pin method together with epoxy?

Here's a picture of a 'pinless' slipjoint from a local maker in SA (Tinus Stone) for reference:

You can. I'm not a fan of using glue alone to hold handles on. Mechanical fasteners work very well.
If the knife needs any kind of repair, you will probably have to destroy the handles and make new ones.
I think properly done pins make a knife look good, and that knives with glued-on handles look cheap- but that's just my opinion.

Bill, you've been around a LONG time and we really appreciate your input and advice. I agree with you a couple of nice brass pins would actually accent the scales in the above slipjoint. That is a nice looking slipjoint.

Bill - what do you think about a couple of small 2-56 screws rather than pins to hold the scales on for slipjoints?

Total agreement with Bill above. If we are to lose the pins on a slipjoint we lost the whole knife.
