Nice review of the Haversack! One quick point, I had a long talk with Dana Gleason of Mystery Ranch on the fabric they use in their packs. The did extensive wear testing and found that with abrasion testing there was only about 5 to 10 minutes difference between 1000 denier and 500 denier. For all practical purposes 500 denier would serve just as well, is a little lighter and not sure about this but might be a little bit cheaper. It is not like most of us are going on a three year Safari thru the wilds of anywhere. I have a WWII canvas musette bag in my possession dated 1942 and it is still in good enough shape to use, and I imagine that haversack you tested will still be going strong long after we are all gone. One thing I like about this haversack and the double layer of the cordura is the stiffness. The bag can stand up a little on it's own. I have had several 500 D packs and they are much more floppy. It comes down to preference and use. I like 500 D on packs that need to be lighter and 1000 D on haversacks for stiffness etc.

Is there any chance you could make a written summary of your video or even just a bullet list of your 8 uses? I struggle with videos.

Just got in mine in!!! It will be my new Smoke/Storm Spotting/Farm bag. It will tote binos, radios/scanners, maps, field knife/multitool, field guides and notebooks etc. It will also be great for camp gear when I get the chance.

It's very similar to one of my favorite field bags ever, a old Swedish (I think) Mussette bag.

Carried it 25+ years till dry rot finally rendered it an unreliable field bag... :( I had modified it with an AK47 rifle sling, riveted into it's leather bottom....it could carry a lot of weight for it's size!

Thanks panzertroop!!!!!! :thumbup::thumbup:
