this one? never see it irl, but think high about Fantoni quality. I think their knives was known in US under Beretta brand.

yes, that one. Fantoni make also knives for lone wolfe and recently for reeve.

the hide and the hide folder instead are made directly under Fantoni brand

here's the specs

blade steel: CPM-S30V 61-62HRC
blade finish: Stone-Washed
handle: Micarta Loveless
blade length: 75mm.
blade thickness: 3,2mm.
overall length: 178mm.
closed length: 102mm.
weigth: 102g.
lock: Back Lock

I really like the looks of it. That is the next folder I would like Renzo Fantoni to do a sprint run of in a special steel. The tall grind and backlock ring my bell :).

sorry, i didn't understand well what have you said. can you explain better?

Fantoni made the HB02 in S125V on two occasions. I would like them to do something similar with the Hide. Either more S125V, or another steel, 3V, 15V, S110V, Vanadis 4 Extra, etc. I like backlocks and high grinds on the blade, which the Hide has.

Ok, get it. i know the hb02 but i think it's too expensive and i think the s125v don't bring such advantage compared to the s30v (not enough to justify the price)

It's understandable. The S125V is much more wear resistant, but when you already use something like S30V, I am certain that is more than enough for most uses. It is very expensive to make knives out of, hence the cost. If they were to get enough to make 100 or more knives, it would be cheaper, but still only for total steel junkies :). If a tough folder were more desired, then I would like to see 3V used. Until the Spyderco Tuff comes out, I don't think there are any 3V folders.

But, that is just speculation on my part. The Hide itself is a great looking knife, and S30V works well for many, many knife users & enthusiasts. I like the micarta especially, the shape of the scales and texture are really nice for a 'tactical' blade.

i think the designer (T. Rumici) work very well and he study a lot before draw a knife.

The fixed looks good. I like that sheath. :)

The handle on the folder looks like an exceptionally good grip.

I'm a Proud Owner of Hide folder, Hide fixed and also Hb02 in s125v- first run

They're all wonderful knives, very well made and with good heat treatment.

Fantoni made a lot of knives for Lone Wolf (like the integral Loveless drop and many more) and his knives are almost like custom ones

Here's a bunch of pics:

Il coltello è frutto della collaborazione fra Tommaso Rumici come geniale designer a la Fantoni Srl. E' un coltello che viene apprezzato per la sua robustezza oltre che per l'efficenza della lama, finita stone wash.
L'attenzione viene posta sui componentidel coltelle realizzate con cura e precisione, sul trattamento termico della leva e della molla oltre che quello, molto importante della lama. L'affilatura è fatta a mano in in 3 passaggi ad umido usando differenti abrasivi.

Question. How does one go about getting a Fantoni knife if that one lives in the USA? I'm more interested in the large Harsey/Beretta version. Had two in the past and ended up selling both because I could not get the things apart! I tried every trick I knew to no avail. Thought they must not be made to take apart, but was assured by several that the knife does come apart. I would like to give it one more shot.
