I apologize in advance if i am posting this in the wrong section, i just signed up and still trying to navigate my way through this. My question is, does anyone know if you can still get a hideaway knife? I have vistited their website and have sent several emails to them with questions about their knives in the past two weeks and have yet to get a reply. I am using their contact info on the website but just don't know if they have changed contact info or not. I have corrosponded with them in the past but no answer lately. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hideaway is a small entrepreneur who has small batches of knives available as they are available. Not being redundant - there is really not a factory per se, most work is done by vendors who own the CNC machines that do the job. Customs are done by the participating knifemaker and can be months on the wait list, as any custom can be when popular.

Althought the ordering process isn't completely intuitive, you can order a Utility HAK - properly sized - and get an idea of what the wait may be once the transaction hits the process flow. It may be in stock - check availability - and see. Then you get to watch the racetrack buttons light up. You can also reach the owner through her forum at The Badlands. She does travel and may be working her primary job before she can respond. And you may get it in the mail about the same time the shipped button lights up - USPS does not update in real time.

Mine came in less than 10 days and I am pleased with it.

Frontsight is dealing with some stuff right now , but orders are still being filled and business as usual , just not at the usual speed, More info can be found on her forum at Badlands.

i too have been looking into getting a hideaway, and have not had any luck receiving responses to sporadic emails nearing 2 months, so its good to know that they are still open for business.

I do have a question in case someone here can help out.

There's a $79 tiger claw on the "available now" link on the hideaway site, which seems to be a newer version of the 'budget' utility hak, and i wanted to get a better idea of what the blade looks like and of the angle the finger ring attaches to the blade. due to the pic being taken at an angle, its hard to get an exact image of what it looks like. The blade looks similar to the utility hak but Much longer with the same width possibly wider because its got a bit more blade material that juts out fromwher it meets the handle, which also happens to seem Wider than other claw type blades pictured on the site.

If anyone has Profile pics of this blade or can verify the above (same width and grip angle as the utility & longer than the utility with curved blade) which is what it looks like to me" i'd be much appreciated.

not trying to be anal but i'm stuck deciding between the utility hak and the claw and want to make the decision i'll be happiest w/.

thanks.
