I have a few feet of shear blades (from the 70's) for cutting Sheet metal. The only thing I find in reference is "High Carbon High Chrome" steel. I see that this call out has a range of materials attributed to it.

#1 Is anyone familiar with Shear blades and the material used?

#2 What is the range of High Carbon High Chrome materials?

Chromium is the most commonly used carbide former in tool steels. So it could be anything though I suppose D2 would be a good guess.
