In the "Buck: hits misses etc." string, we had proposed a high-end Crosslock. CJ Buck replied at the end that the string was going to get discussed in a Buck meeting. CJ, any update?

I took a look at one of Kit Carson's custom crosslocks, and I immediately think "Winner!!!". Better blade-to-handle ratio, nice ergonomic-looking handle, better liner lock implementation, nicer looking blades. Buck could do that model with (say) steel liners and carbon fiber or colored g-10 scales, crisp liner locks, and better steel (even VG-10 or ATS-34 would be fine; hey, I'll even take 8A!).

Maybe make the drop-point blade a little sexier looking with a false edge, or better yet put in a 112-style clip point. Keep the serrated sheep's foot blade.

Whatcha say? I've already put aside the money for this beauty. This does NOT scream "Me too", that's for sure.

Joe, I've had some conversations with folks at Buck and the word is that the crosslock is in for a major redesign. Better handle materials/ratio, blade steel, etc. I don't know any particulars, and I don't know for sure when (I suspect Y2K) but there is definitely something in the works.

Groovy!

If Buck would like a semi-knowledgeable hard-to-please constructive critic, send the non-disclosure agreement my way and I'd love to have at it!
