I was reading up on blade laws and it seems some places won't allow locking folders and most of mine lock. I'm a fan of Chris reeve and William Henry but these all lock. Is there a isimilar level company that produces non locking folders? Thanks

Case and Tony Bose makes a limited run pattern every year. sometimes you can buy them off the for sale forums.

If you are interested in traditional style non-locking production folders of very high quality, my best recommendation would be Great Eastern. They mostly use 1095 for blade steel, but some are 440C.

Spyderco has some non-locking, one-hand opening folders. Look at the UK pen knife.

Stop by the Traditional forum.

GEC makes a great knife!

I hear William Henry's are excellent.

If you are comfortable with the money you would spend for a CRK or William Henry you should be able to afford a custom. If you don't want to wait while someone builds you a knife, you could always check the on-line dealers that specialize in custom knives. If you want a production knife and would prefer stainless over carbon steel, you could take a look at the Northwoods brand. They have several knives that use D2 or ATS34. You could also take a look at the knifemaker's for sale forum. There are a few very good knifemakers that sell knives there.
